Many pets went missing after the storm without returning. Bonnie had several cats she cared for before the tornado hit and many of them went missing. She has been searching for her missing pets for weeks but only two has come back. She still leaves food out for her missing cats.
Bonnie Adams suffers from five broken ribs and bruises that paint her entire body. She was left trapped between two mattresses for over two and a half hours. "I just remember yelling 'please God help me, help me' until someone finally came."
Bonnie helps Dale take off his jacket one morning. She has to help him constantly because he is too injured to care for himself. He suffers from a broken collarbone which required surgery to heal properly. They recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary and are still very happy they have each other.
While Dale was in the hospital Bonnie had to repeatedly remind him that he couldn't smoke in hospitals anymore, but he continued to try.
Dale and Bonnie Adams are currently making the transition from a temporary trailer given to them shortly after the storm (far back) to a much larger trailer which will become their new home (right). Their front porch is the only thing still standing from their original trailer and they plan to attach it shortly. "We've got 20 guys moving it this weekend," Bonnie says through a grin. "I don't know why we need 20 but that's what we've got."
